WELCOME to the official website of"Salute to Our Veterans, Inc."
"Salute to Our Veterans, Inc." (STOV) organization was created in Cherokee County, GA to honor our American Veterans for all their service and sacrifices. Our Veteran programs are presented each year in October (before Veterans Day in November.) Our programs offer dynamic speakers from Washington, D.C. and across the nation. Local leadership, parents of fallen hero's and Veterans from past and present conflicts share their heart warming stories. STOV is a non-partisian organization. This year we will be hosting an Honor Flight, 2008 for 20 Cherokee County WWII Veterans in September so they may visit their WWII memorial in Washington, D.C.. This will be a one day trip offered in September, 2008. WWII Veterans will travel free of charge. Guardians will be responsible for their own expenses. The Wounded Warrior Project was founded on the principle that veterans are our nations greatest citizens. The WWP seeks to assist those men and women of our nation armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and other locations around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds, burns and blast injuries that will retire theses brave warriors from military life. www.woundedwarrioirproject.org
The World War II Memorial honors the 16 million who served in the armed forces of the U.S., the more than 400,000 who died, and all who supported the war effort from home. Symbolic of the defining event of the 20th Century, the memorial is a monument to the spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the American people. The Second World War is the only 20th Century event commemorated on the National Mall?
